Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration is a long-standing leader in the world of commercial refrigeration, providing climate-control solutions to customers in more than 70 countries. Job Description

As an engineering supervisor, the person in this position leads engineers and technical support staff in developing and applying advanced mechanical engineering design methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, conduct and technically driect mini projects that are Engineered to Order (ETO), and projects as may be assigned.

  • Coordinate the efforts of engineers and technical support staff to current with ETO orders and satisfy commitments of the Technical Support group.

  • Conduct investigations or tests of considerable complexity pertaining to the development of new designs, methods and materials.

  • Review literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

  • Perform detailed analytical and design studies and convey to team as needed.

  • Develop basic design concepts and design criteria.

  • Participate as a hands-on member of the Tech Support team, processing orders as needed to stay current.

  • Supervise and facilitate determination of root causes and corrective actions to address and eliminate errors in product documentation by Tech Support

  • Handle data gathering and reporting as needed to satisfy performance to metrics and objectives for Tech Support.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvements in process and practices to optimize team performance.

  • Assure excellent service and support is provided to factory.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. A master's degree in engineering is preferred. Requires at least 5 years related experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Comprehension of practical applications of engineering science and technology. Expert use of analytical and CAD software. Requires expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Effective in directing projects and providing work leadership.
