Management of the Production Control (PC) function, ensuring employee safety, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of required raw material, order information, manufacturing routings, equipment readiness, and schedules in order to effectively satisfy customer expectations and business objectives.
Establish effective information and materials management procedures and applications for all Heatcraft Tifton manufacturing operations.
Manages the activities of the Production Planning team to include:
Develop a master manufacturing schedule which effectively utilizes the plant’s capacity
Define plant’s detailed production schedules, in accordance with required volumes, plant capacity, information availability/ accuracy/ timeliness, and material availability
Plan and prepares manufacturing production schedules, assesses changes and improves processes as necessary.
Manages the activities of the Materials team to include:
Timely inbound material receiving
Accurate material inventory management
Safe and effective material handling
Comprehensive material presentation strategies to the production lines
Manages the activities of the Purchasing team to include:
Timely and in appropriate volumes, acquisition of materials
Vendor management to ensure timely delivery of materials
Development of robust continuous improvement processes that identify opportunities and execution of plans for materials cost reductions, etc.
Establishes processes for production planning activities to meet established production specifications and schedules, including volume, cost, and waste targets while maintaining established quality standards.
Manages all aspects of SAP, High Jump, REM, and other similar software programs relating to the MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning) processes, at the facility level.
Schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
Review and maintain Master Production Schedule (MPS)
Partners with Manufacturing, Engineering, Order Management, and Maintenance leadership to ensure best opportunities to achieve customer satisfaction have been realized prior to orders being released to Manufacturing.
Background & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and eight years of prior relevant experience or
Masters Degree and five years of prior relevant experience
At least 5 years of related managerial experience oversseing salaried staff
Lean/ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Experience using SAP, MM and PP
Effective communication skills, both verbally and written
