Job Description

As a Material Cost Reduction Engineer , you will be in a highly visible role at one of our largest plants. You will have the opportunity to develop ideas and influence change for material cost reduction. You will design, fabricate, modify and evaluate complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components and sub-systems.

You will be trusted to:

  • Work with PD&R and Sourcing to collaborate with various teams to develop and implement material cost reduction ideas.

  • Prepare design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval

  • Responsible for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development

  • Collaborate with drafters/designers, engineering technicians and machine shop personnel on projects

  • Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material

  • Coach and mentor team members

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in engineering

  • A minimum of 5 years related experienceUnderstanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology

  • Experience with analytical and CAD software

  • Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
