Job Description

Inspector must demonstrate a thorough understanding of electricity, electronics, and the National Electric Code (NEC). Demonstrate a working knowledge of refrigeration systems. Have the ability to review engineering drawings for completion and correctness, review customer specifications and compare drawings to product to ensure units are built to print.

Also,inspect wiring to ensure proper gauge of wire, proper landing of wires, proper terminal usage, no cracks or frays, and properly tightened/torqued.Ensure electrical devices meet the requirements of government electrical standards and codes.

Inspectors inspect using test equipment, check units for proper electrical routings and operations. Experience using a combination of hand held equipment and installed test equipment. Conduct various tests and quality checks on products in both a de-energized and energized state. Insure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, readability of labels. Conduct pressurization, leak check, and vacuum evacuation of units. Must properly document inspection results, and verify corrective actions to inspection findings. Enter and maintain data using a variety of software systems.

Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and customer specifications. Conduct inspections at First Article, in-process, in-coming and completes the final inspections. Initiate Non-Conformance reports as required.

Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Materials to determine the root cause and corrective action of quality concerns. Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment.

Train staff in quality assurance techniques. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management, etc. Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Read and interpret shop drawings

Prior experience performing test and inspection of commercial/industrial equipment

Thorough understanding of National Electric Code

String troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
