This field consultant develops and delivers training courses for training customers or technical employees focused on the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC products. The consultant also troubleshoots technical inquiries.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Identify customer needs.
Investigate and resolve technical inquiries.
Assist in developing, testing and maintaining courses and materials used in training.
Assist in establishing course content and student learning objectives.
Prepare course syllabus, lesson plans and student manuals, and coordinate the development of training aids.
Review problem areas and identify training needs.
Develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
Update course materials on a continuous basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.
Conduct training using all delivery methods.
10+ years of experience repairing and troubleshooting Residential HVAC equipment
The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Gas Technician 2 (a G.2 certificate); Journey Person Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (Ontario 313D or 313A) certificate of qualification is preferred. In addition, a valid Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) card is required.
Successful, 2-3 year track record in trainingexperience is essential
A strong customer focus is required to ensure customer satisfaction with the training provided
The preferred candidate will have post-secondary degree or diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Expert in the industry with a preference for experience with Lennox product
Broad knowledge of principles and methods for training, technical support, and problem resolution
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and training skills which include an understanding of different learning theories and how to apply those in a classroom setting
Broad knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service which includes assessing customer needs, meeting quality standard for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Understands of how to balance local market considerations with the overall corporate priorities of the business
Expert ability in building relationships, listening, persuading, negotiating, and managing time
Cross-functional leadership skills; viewed as credible by business unit/functional leaders
Customer service oriented and team focused
