Under general direction, responsible for the movement of merchandise or material in or out of the country in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Determine the international customs classification of products based on the World Customs Organization (WCO) Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding system (HS).
Interpreting U.S. trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC and Customs) and providing necessary guidance as required
Responsible for Export Control Classification (ECCN) of parts, materials, technology and equipment as required
Respond to inquiries regarding HTS and Schedule B classification, documentation requirements or other import and export regulations to ensure timely clearance.
Maintain a high level of skill and familiarity with customs regulations, developments and changes.
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A two year degree or equivalent is preferred. Requires at least 4 years related experience.
Extensive knowledge in US and international customs and export control laws and regulations required, including HTSUS and ECCN classifications, NAFTA and shipments/receipts of products to/from these countries.Has broad experience with processes and regulations related to import and export administration.
Must be effective at researching and meeting tariff and paperwork requirements for international distribution.
Able to effectively use Microsoft Office, database applications and related technologies. Effective verbal and written communication.
Able to set priorities, organize work, participate on a team and resolve problems independently.
